Hunter College is committed to treating all students fairly and respectfully. The College recognizes that disputes may sometimes arise and requests that the parties involved resolve conflicts informally whenever possible. Students are encouraged to speak directly with the person or office against whom they have a complaint in order to voice concerns and work together toward a resolution.
Indeed, many offices and departments already have a process in place to accept complaints. This form is not meant to replace them, only to add an additional process for convenience. If resolution cannot be reached, the Student Complaint Form provides a more formal complaint process to assure impartial and equitable resolution.
This form should NOT be submitted to address the following areas of concern:
Sexual Misconduct
Complaints About Faculty
Academic Integrity
Concerns About Another Student (BRT - Behavioral Response Team)
Discrimination
Grade Appeals

Following submission of the Student Complaint Form, the Office of the Dean of Students will contact you via your Hunter College email account within three (3) business days. You will be notified of potential next steps and may be asked for additional information.
