This Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) Assessment Form is a way for students to gain credits towards their degree by assessing previous learning experiences that align with college-level learning. Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) may allow students to earn credit for college-level learning gained outside the traditional college classroom. Please review the CPL policy outlined in the Hunter College catalog in full.

Hunter College may offer credits for prior learning where there is documented evidence that the student has mastered the course content. CPL is not awarded for experience but for college-level learning gained from experience. To have prior experience reviewed, please complete and submit the CPL Portfolio components outlined below. All submissions will be evaluated by the department chairs and program directors.
