The TEACH Grant Program provides grants of up to $4,000* a year to eligible undergraduate and graduate students who are completing or plan to complete course work needed to begin a career teaching in a high need subject area.

*Due to the federal sequester, for any 2025-26 TEACH Grant first disbursed on or after Oct. 1, 2025, and before Oct. 1, 2026, the maximum award of $4,000 is reduced by 5.7% ($228), resulting in a maximum award of $3,772.

Prior to completing this form, make sure you have proof of the following ready: 
1. Submission of 2025 - 2026 FAFSA and included Hunter College school code 002689
2. Completion of TEACH Grant Entrance Counseling at teach-ats.ed.gov
3. Completion of TEACH Grant Agreement to Serve at teach-ats.ed.gov

Maximum and Aggregates
The maximum TEACH Grant per academic year is $4,000 with $2,000 being the maximum per semester, and awards are prorated for less than full-time attendance. Additionally, the maximum/aggregate TEACH Grant award allowed for Graduate study is $8,000 and for Undergraduate study is $16,000. Any TEACH Grant award received at another school will be counted towards your aggregate.
